لا يدخل هذا الفيلم ضمن قائمة أعظم أفلام التاريخ! والسبب الرئيسي لذلك، أنّ هذه التحفة السينمائية الخالدة العظيمة لا يستطيع المرء ببساطة أن يحشرها مع أي فيلم آخر مهما بلغت عظمته! برأيي المتواضع، حينما يتم تصنيف الأفلام ضمن قائمة ما، يجب وضع خط ماسي تحت فيلم المواطن كاين، ومن ثم البدء بترتيب الأفلام تحت هذا الخط...

Odd start, but an entertaining story of a fascinating character filled with drama, wit, comical and poignant moments. Kane is a classic character in a great film which keeps the air of mystery through the retrospective plot of his life's achievements and losses.

An undistributed masterpiece that Orson Welles cemented his genius in film with his debut of "Citizen Kane". "Citizen Kane" is the story of one man, but is portrayed so genuine that it truly represents humanity as a whole. A gripping and captivating film that stays with you, in your thoughts and dreams. Everyone, whether a film lover in touch with many classics or someone who wants to see film in a way that revolutionized the film industry and to this day has a huge impact with all those watching the smoke ascending to the night sky.

I had this at 4.5 stars after the first viewing. but it was better the 2nd time and therefore gets the bump.

Welles almost creates a mise en abyme throughout Citizen Kane, inviting but ultimately refuting the tendency to want to reduce everything to one core sentimental genesis.
