I loved this movie I don't think it was given a real chance here in the states I believe it was released internationally first then we had to wait for a year before it was released here I myself bought the digital copy. from amazon a full year before the DVD was released here I remember the comics starring Solomon Kane and I liked them then I enjoyed the movie tremendously of course I took it at face value and didn't try and dissect the movie and it is a good adventure, where our hero isn't so good but tries to change his ways, I think this is a good movie and I'm hoping for a second but I highly doubt it will happen it isn't a complicated movie good versus evil it is something refreshingly different from the superpowered hero's we normally get don't get me wrong I love those movies having grown up reading the comic books but sometimes different is good and that's where this movie fits it is a good action movie as well as a movie where good beats evil I enjoyed this movie very much and I hope others give it a Chance and enjoy it as much as I have.

As a longtime Robert E. Howard fan, I had to see this movie. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. It was well cast, well acted, convincingly set. The special effects are sparingly used to set the tone, and very well designed, the fight scenes work, the costumes are plausible. This movie was clearly a labor of love, and deserving of better reviews than it has sometimes gotten. But you have to judge a story based on its type. Claiming the characters lack depth is like blaming Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow for being unrealistic. I can only hope that this movie did well enough to inspire more of the same.

Exceptional well done movie. Granted you will have a hard time finding this movie, but if you can it is a definite must see and a jewel for collectors.

solomon kane is an almost perfect medieval hack 'n slash action flick with a decent cast, solid direction, and an awesome screenplay, which, unfortunately, doesn't entirely make the transition from paper to celluloid, but that's only a knitpick...
