An interesting, slightly different take on the classical Mary Shelly story. Lee is unique as The Monster, but the film is dominated by Cushing's arrogantly brilliant Baron Von Frankenstein. It's a perfect film, though I wanted to see more Christopher Lee.

I changed it up from Dracula and went into Hammer's Frankenstein movies. I liked this one except for the design of the monster himself. Christopher Lee looked fine as long as he was under the wrappings, but the big reveal wasn't so scary. The Karloff make-up is iconic and still the best, but Peter Cushing was a fine Doctor Frankenstein.

This version of the classic story focuses more on baron Victor Frankenstein as the evil character instead of the monster, who is evil to a lesser extent. In essence, Dr. Frankenstein serves the role of the real monster, doing whatever it takes to create his living creature from the bodies of corpses. The acting was considerably good in this one. For the most part, though, it's just what you'd expect from a film of that time; no surprises.

I like the increased focus on Frankenstein instead of the monster. Basically the story of a man on the brink of insanity. ME LIKE PETER CUSHING!!!!!
