This was a great sequel, which carries straight on from the original Curse of Frankenstein. The special effects look a bit dodgy, but considering the film was made in '58, they are a lot better than the crappy CGI effects you get in horrors today. With a strong plot, and strong acting, this is a very good horror film, with a surprising creature, who you would expect to be scary looking, but it actually good looking, and can talk. The makers really go to town to making the sequel as good as the original, and making the sequel original, and avoiding all the Frankenstein clichÃ©s of old. Highly recommended

this one's pretty good actually. I love peter cushing in general & this is a good performance out of him. Not to sure about the title though

Great sequel - atmospheric and thought provoking rather than horrific - great addition to the series

Great Hammer sequel that picks up right where the first movie ends. Cushing's Frankenstein is still hugely watchable and the story is pretty solid with some excellent developments. Freed from Shelley, Hammer could really have fun with the concept and this one is a great example of the series at its best. Hugely enjoyable.

Although it lacks an inventive creature design or a particularly exciting climax, Peter Cushing is in absolute top form, the production design has its gothic charms, and Sangster's screenplay does some interesting things with Victor Frankenstein, heightening the moral ambiguity of his actions without pushing him into full-on "asshole" territory, which some of the subsequent films in the series are guilty of.
