The Evil of Frankenstein (1964)

Once hounded from his castle by outraged villagers for creating a monstrous living being, Baron Frankenstein returns to Karlstaad. High in the mountains they stumble on the body of the creature, perfectly preserved in the ice. He is brought back to life with the help of the hypnotist Zoltan who now controls the creature. Can Frankenstein break Zoltan's hypnotic spell that incites the monster to commit these horrific murders or will Zoltan induce the creature to destroy its creator?

This entry in Hammer's Frankenstein cycle has a decent enough story, and Cushing always delivers the goods, but the goofball monster design and the lifeless supporting cast prevent this from being one of the better installments in the series.

Not as good as the previous 2 Hammer Frankensteins but it has some good moments:the evil Zoltan, mute girl and Cushing is on top form as usual.Monster was pretty gash though, sorry Kiwi.

A vaguely okay film that doesn't offer a lot to entertain or even scare its audience.

It's pretty wan and spotty, in fact, though probably not as bad as the most rabid Hammer fanatics would have you believe. Certainly, it is a stunningly terrible sequel.

Tries to go back to its roots, but the makeup is just plain awful. Shame.
