So much potential with this movie,That's completely wasted. Blame it mostly on It's cheesy period drama and romance approach. Yes you have seen it before. The Countess is like watching a genre blending train-wreck of Horror, Drama and Romance. And for every kind of Genre it mashes into itself it severely misses the mark on each one.

Tres differente de la premiere realisation de Julie Delpy. Plus academique dans la forme mais aussi plus ambitieuse dans le fond. L'histoire d'une femme puissante et implacable du royaume de Hongrie que la perte de l'amour a rendu folle et sanguinaire. Elle pensait rajeunir en se baignant dans le sang de vierges... Inspire de la legende de la comtesse de Bathory. Un film feministe un peu bancal mais plutot agreable a suivre.

An alright movie. Some will do anything to stay young looking. I guess before skin care and anti-ageing products their was virgins blood.
