WOW. This was fantastic!! One of the best movies I've seen in a while. Sam Rockwell's best role by far. If you haven't seen this movie I highly recommend it.

This film is as surrel as some of Kaufman's other scripts, but part of that surrelity comes from the fact that this all probaby happened. First time director George Clooney showes an understanding for telling a haunting story about the difficulties of creating art many consider garbage. Sam Rockwell steals every scene he is and brings us to the conclusion that this another Kaufman scripted masterpiece that will make you laugh and suck you into the paranoia of it's protagonist.

It's impossible to define this movie with it's rich depth in characters and story. Part humor, romance, drama, action, fact and fiction. Rarely do you get a complete package in a movie and yet Clooney does this seemlessly. A cast that cannot be beat and tries to win every scene in a endless scope of acting range. I was awe struck by Clooney's death scene on the diving board with a brillant trail of blood filling the blue lighted swimming pool. Sam Rockwell never fails to make both sides of Barry's life seem believable and adds more plausability rather than deniability to his self bioagraphy. "Born from the birth canal of my own imagination." C.B. A truer statement could never be uttered.

George Clooney really came out and proved what an amazing talent he was behind the camera with his filming of Charlie Kaufman's adaptation of Chuck Barris' autobiography. To say this film is a visual wonder is to put it very lightly, as it features amazing direction puncuated with brilliant camera tricks, framing and inventive shots from beginning to end. The story is unique, but also involving, cool and unpredictible. The music is bold and helps pump blood through the vein of the action taking place. The acting is great, with an especially fantastic performance from Sam Rockwell, and while I don't especially like the acting of Drew Barrymore or Julia Roberts ever, even their presence in this film doesn't take away from the wonderful experience. Absolute entertainment.
