brilliant film , with nailbiting suspense. one of the best ever suspense films made, do not i repeat do not confuse this with the god awful remake (the jackal with bruce willis).

Brilliant! A brilliant film based around an assassin. Starring Edward Fox, Derek Jacobi and various other English greats.

Classic... I read the book before I watched this movie but I didn't feel that the movie lacked anything that the book has. The re-production cannot be compared to this one.

My only hangup with this movie is that the real life event it is based off of had a much more dramatic ending: the assassin (who was pullling the strings in real life instead of firing a weapon himself) was executed by De Gaulle with this rationalization: "I can think of no better martyr for the france and her people than my would be assassin"

i was blown away after watching this film as it's just one of the best thrillers i've ever seen. with it's tight and complicated story, it gets your attention and doesn't let up for 135 minutes. simply amazing.
