Great attempt. I absolutely love James Franco, but some of the other actors were a little weak and unbelievable. James Franco is incredibly talented - writer, director and actor. I'll be anxious to see the next film he directs, as I feel he was just getting his feet wet with this one.

james franco was obviously obsessed with Requiem for a dream & fight club as a youngster, shame his movie was a cheap rip off of both of theses brilliant films. He some how tries to glorify drugs but goes way over the top into exaggerating certain effects of drugs. its a movie written by a "boy" with sex drugs and rock&roll on the brain, ask me to write a movie this is what i would come up with, should it be made into a movie? NO. The guy cant "act" normal, its like he cant switch off to the fact that there is a camera in front of him. Don't waste your time, i had to watch it to the end just to see how bad it would get, it didn't disappoint in that regard as it was total shit

Apparently James Franco directed and co-wrote this film, in which he also plays the lead part. It is an impressive debut. Franco first came to my attention as an actor as part of the ensemble in the short lived but brilliant TV series Freaks and Geeks. Franco gave his character depth. The talent behind and in front of the camera in that series went on to big things. Franco has been in major blockbusters and in small films where he could really shine as an actor. In this he not only turns in another complex on-screen characterization, but he reveals great promise as a director and screenwriter, too. Check it out! It may be playing in festivals and art houses, but on DVD you have to go to Blockbuster where it is an exclusive.

A load of old shite. The whole thing was very self-consciously arthouse-y, and it seemed like more effort had gone into the choosing of the soundtrack than into the film. Really wouldn't bother.
