Bravo to James Franco. The writing and direction of the movie were great. Unfortunately, I don't know if the story translated so well to film. There are so many indie movies like this. I think I would have preferred the story in book form.

A load of old shite. The whole thing was very self-consciously arthouse-y, and it seemed like more effort had gone into the choosing of the soundtrack than into the film. Really wouldn't bother.

A movie about two brothers, one pursuing a career as a doctor and the other is a drug addict with an unstable life. It's not a completely flawless movie. It tries to be a lot of different movies at different times including the much better Requiem For A Dream. There's some hope for Franco as a director as well as an actor outside of the corny Spider-Man franchise.
