The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things (2004)

Young Jeremiah lives in a stable environment with loving foster parents until the day his troubled mother, Sarah, returns to claim him. Jeremiah becomes swept up in his mother's dangerous world of drugs, seedy hotels, strip joints and revolving lovers. Salvation comes in the form of the boy's ultrareligious grandparents, but soon Jeremiah's mother returns. Maternal love binds the pair together on the road until Sarah's desperate and depraved lifestyle finally consumes her.

I've been waiting for this movie for 29 long, trivial and useless years. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that if David Lynch was God, Asia Argento would be...the Holy Spirit. Or something of that sort. You got my point don't you?

An awesome and depressing movie, Asia Argento is my hero. It's so very very dark and there are so many great moments in it. It sucks you into a world of its own, and I think that is what movies should be trying to do.

Incroyable! One of the best movies I've seen in awhile. After recently reading the book, I can say that, although not completely accurate to its literary counterpart, it's definitely worth watching. Other than the slight inaccuracy to the book, the only problem I can think of mentioning is the ending- it's a bit disappointing, but no spoilers.
