Completely missed this film last year which is a shame because it dosen't seem to have been given the credit it deserves. It is another take on Fight Club's insomniac thriller style that leans towards a sci-fi plot of "Are we living in a simulation?". Brilliant performance from Malek as he fits the role perfectly and reminded me a lot of Mr. Robot. Had no idea what this film was gonna be about, another great film that's slipped under the hollywood cgi focused radar.

Do yourself a favor and watch this film. Quirky, odd, a bit confusing and a tad dark but humorous all at the same time, Buster's Mal Heart is a film you won't stop thinking about long after you've seen it. On the surface it's a tragic tale of one man's search for the meaning of life, but it ends redeeming itself with the satisfaction of freeing the title character from the grips of the dialectical experience of being human. Superbly acted by Rami Malek and brilliantly written and directed by Sara Adina Smith, Buster's Mal Heart will get in you and won't let you go.
