Bullets of Love (2001)

Sam and his team are members of a Serious Crime Unit in the District Crime Squad. The team successfully arrests an international crime organization's leaders, Night. At the Court, Ann, a prosecutor and Sam's finance, tries her best to convict Night. However, finally, Night is convicted on only one charge and sentenced to three years imprisonment. Night vows to take his revenge and destroy the couple one day. Ann and Sam take a trip to Paris and the assassin monitors them. Sam is completely crushed by the death of Ann that he starts a new life as a bar owner on Lamma. Two years later, Sam meets a Japanese tourist, You, who looks exactly like Ann, and he cannot help but fall in love with her. Meanwhile, Night has successfully appealed his case and decides to "take care" of Sam. During this time Sam happens to come across a bunch of photos and videotapes belonging to You, in which record Sam and Ann's trip to France......

[font=Century Gothic]"Bullets of Love" starts out with Sam(Leon Lai) leading a police raid on the headquarters of a human smuggling ring, in the process nabbing its leader. His girlfriend, Ann(Asaka Seto), then prosecutes the gang in court.(Well, there is something you don't even see on "Law and Order"...) She wins a conviction and the villain is sent away for five years. To celebrate, Sam and Ann fly off to Paris, trailed by a mysterious female assassin...[/font] [font=Century Gothic][/font] [font=Century Gothic]"Bullets of Love" tries to be a police thriller crossed with a romance but it does not come close to succeeding. The film's inconsistent tone shifts from gritty to romantic to cute without breaking a sweat. And the jump cuts do not help. All of which is a shame because there is a good idea buried underneath it all.[/font]

Visually stunning action movie with great characters and a romance at its core. Much more heart than a typical American outing.

What a stupid title. Otherwise it was okay - a cop's girlfriend gets killed by a professional assassin and then the assassin changes her appearance to that of the girlfriend in order to get close to the cop. Great gun action and lots of intrigue - enjoyed it quite a bit.
