A twisted romance set in the 20's showing an aspect of highway life I did not expect. It was driven by Model T's, passion and tragic justice. It made me look forward to seeing the original. It says rated PG, but it was most likely a type o. Huston's cameo was interesting.

Nicholson and Lange are both winners, and their relationship is bizarre and intriguing. The movie goes on for a little too long though.

A story which starts out well eventually drifts off at the end, which seems to have run out of steam. Nicholson is in his usual good form and gives everything to the role. Lange is also good. Shame about the last half an hour.

Nice 30's noir atmosphere in places, and decent chemistry, but no character engenders much sympathy and the pacing is somewhat off in the second half. Nice use of a kitchen table for sex though. But I must have missed the Postman's double visit.
