It has been nine years since we last met Jesse and Celine, the French-American couple who once met on a train in Vienna. They now live in Paris with twin daughters but have spent a summer in Greece at the invitation of an author colleague of Jesse's. When the vacation is over and Jesse must send his teenage son off to the States, he begins to question his life decisions, and his relationship with Celine is at risk.

It is a humorous, introspective, and very scary look into the mid-life crisis' of middle-aged men and women as they contemplate the very nature of love and a lifetime of commitment to one another. The 3rd installment succeeds in the way it retains the charm of Jess and Celine's relationship and adds in the real life drama that will most likely hit too close to home for most viewers.

Brilliant. Brilliantly written, acted and directed. Completed the "Before" trilogy just so brilliantly, with almost 10 years gap between each, still never kill the flame.

With Oscar worthy performances from Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, giving funny, touching, complex and grounded powerful performances in which they both have on point chemistry and makes the film so entertaining and so hard to watch in the intimate scenes. The writing is still funny, charming, witty and thoughtful and the themes reflected throughout are never hammered in. The film is directed with restraint and excellence with a great use of long takes and wide shots, like you're watching two people and set against a beautiful back drop of Greece that is captured to perfection. There is only a personal flaw, because there was a scene so well handled and so emotionally confusing and cruel in ways that I might not be able to deal with that scene again. I dunno, maybe I will but it is beyond amazing and a marvel to watch on screen.
