When Johnny is released from prison following a forgery charge, he quickly lands a job as a short-order cook at a New York diner. Following a brief fling with waitress Cora, he develops an attraction for Cora's friend and fellow waitress Frankie. While Frankie resists Johnny's charms initially, she eventually relents when her best friend, Tim, persuades her to give Johnny a chance.

this movie is one of the best romantic comedy movies i have ever seen . i love both al pachino & michelle pfeiffer with their great acting in this movie.

Frankie and Johnny as a movie isn’t a first chance love story, or a second chance or a third. This is a film about two lonely people who have spent so long trying to find someone to connect with and who have been disappointed so often that it seems like maybe connection isn’t worth the effort anymore.

[i]Frankie and Johnny[/i] has Pacino playing a lover? Huh? He wants Michelle baddddd. Well, at that time who wouldn't, now's a different story. For being a lovey movie, I was down, and feeling it. It was another one of those 'fall asleep on the couch and wake up to this movie on the screen and just starting and giving it 30 minutes and watching the whole damn thing because it's pretty fucking good' movie. Why am I such a waste of life? *shrugs* See [i]Frankie and Johnny.[/i]
