Luckily I booked before reading some of these 'professional' reviews. I thought the sets were beautiful and the story creepy and everyone in the cinema was jumping and seemed to enjoy it. Maybe the 'professionals' have just seen too many films, as this had chilling potential reality in it. It lacked spoilful overacting, which was good. Anyway, go and make your own mind up, it's worth it

Saw this movie last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Seems like another miss by the critics to me. Plenty of decent dread/buildup with decent payoff. As always, Helen Mirren gives a great performance and the plot delivers on actual growth in the main character. While I wouldn't call it Oscar-worthy, it is definitely an enjoyable watch. If you are a fan of haunted house movies or ghost stories, I'd definitely give this one a shot.

I liked it for what it is. This is more of a jumpy, suspenseful moment then horror.
