I first saw this when I was a small child. Great performances. Another film I should really not care about that I genuinely love. Go figure.

One of those perfect coming of age movies. I'd give it to my nieces if not for an unfortunate racist bit early on. I've read that the crush really happend & the Sellers character was actually Oscar Levant!

Some parents could not understand precocious children. It is well written and I liked the directors view point.
