The kind of Movie I can watch any time and be fully entertained. A Masterpiece.

What a perfect film. Totally imaginative, groundbreaking, funny, touching; a true epic. J.R.R. Tolkien owes Alexander Korda and anyone else involved in the making of this film a huge amount of cash: the giant spider, the all-seeing eye, even the orc-looking creatures seem to have suddenly, inexplicably appeared in 'Lord of the Rings'. And I used to say 'Lord of the Rings' was unoriginal just out of spite. Regardless, though, this is an amazing movie.

This is a film that should be preserved and passed down from generation to generation (even if, like me, you never plan on having children). One of Criterion's best DVDs w/ commentary by Scorsese and Coppola.

A really fun movie and very entertaining adventure. Also quite brilliant technicolor production design.
