The Love Punch (2014)

Retirement at last! Middle-aged and divorced, company owner Richard Jones is looking forward to a worry-free existence as he arrives at his office on his last day of work. Much to his dismay, he discovers that the management buyout of his company was fraudulent. The company is now bankrupt and the employee pension fund — including his own — has been embezzled. Enlisting the help of his ex-wife Kate, Richard sets out to track down the shady businessman behind the fraud.

Mildly amusing. Implausible story. Interesting to be back in Paris though!

A tremendously enjoyable and feel-good romantic comedy caper that's filled with huge laughs and great chemistry from its wonderful four leads. Emma Thompson and Pierce Brosnan are simply brilliant together, they have such funny and gorgeous chemistry that looks so natural and honest. Timothy Spall and Celia Imria are a blast. These four outstanding artist have never been funnier and are solid joy. An exciting, hilarious and wickedly entertaining movie. I absolutely loved this film. It's smart, compelling and refreshingly energetic. A good natured, wacky, screw-ball caper that you will want to watch again. 95 minutes of fun that you don't want to pass up. A comedy that packs real comedic punch.

It's like they dug this screenplay out of cold storage after Doris Day and Cary Grant turned it down. I love an old fashioned comedy, but this movie isn't just out of date, it's out of touch. Pierce Brosnan and Emma Thompson have more fun with the material than they ought to be having, which does save it from being a complete waste of time.
