Seven Years in Tibet (1997)

Austrian mountaineer Heinrich Harrer journeys to the Himalayas without his family to head an expedition in 1939. But when World War II breaks out, the arrogant Harrer falls into Allied forces' hands as a prisoner of war. He escapes with a fellow detainee and makes his way to Lhasa, Tibet, where he meets the 14-year-old Dalai Lama, whose friendship ultimately transforms his outlook on life.

I can keep watching this movie, and it's not only because of Brad Pitt. It's a great story also because it is really happenedYou can hardly believe there was a country so isolated from the world... untill the chinese came in.

I'm not fond of Brad Pitt, but my interest in the Tibet led me to this movie and I was pleased by the handling. It certainly gives some insight into a very unique and special person, and the way he framed his life. Beautiful.
