OK for kids, but classic movie version is a better bet.

Substitute Brynner as the King, take out the ridiculous magic scenes and it would be all right. I like this ending much better than the other, but then, I'm a sap for happy endings.

I love this musical. I really do. I really don't like the cartoon as much as the real broadway production but who cares, good musical, and good songs. I'd say that The King and I, in general, is just a flat out good musical.
