This movie perfectly displays medieval politics and it's culture. The final battle is the most accurate battle with full plate armor in any movie I have ever seen. Truly a masterpiece that does a great job at displaying history.

There are those, like a great deal of the jaded professional critics, who might find this boring, but to me it was a sumptuous period piece with historical significance, right up my alley. The acting, directing, production, all top notch. There are much worse ways to spend 2.5 hours. I really really liked this movie.

The King is a good movie. But that's about all there is to say, it's good. It never really excels at anything, except maybe production design. If you like history, I would advise giving it a watch.

Stylish, beautifully-filmed, and richly written, The King is nonetheless bogged down by a stiff, cold atmosphere and an unfortunate lifelessness. Despite impressive cosmetics, the film is rather unmemorable and never stirs any sense of excitement, passion, intrigue, suspense or interest in any of the characters on screen.
