The death of King Henry VIII throws his kingdom into chaos because of succession disputes. His weak son, Edward, is on his deathbed. Anxious to keep England true to the Reformation, a scheming minister John Dudley marries off his son, Guildford to Lady Jane Grey, whom he places on the throne after Edward dies. At first hostile to each other, Guildford and Jane fall in love, but they cannot withstand the course of power which will lead to their ultimate downfall.

Very heavy on the romance, but totally makes up for it with the young Helena Bonham Carter and Cary Elwes. Major Bonus: Patrick Stewart as Jane's father.

Very moving story of a most admirable girl who gets thrown into being Queen of England for 9 days. Whether the love story is true or not, it is still beautiful to watch play out! ^_^

I get a huge crush on Cary Elwes every time I watch this. Though this movie wasn't exactly on Par with actual events... I loved both Guilford and Jane, and I know I'll watch it again....I loved these kids!!

This movie is a good movie as a historical reference and romance. Its so intriguing because its true. They say that inside the tower of london there is the name scratched into the wall...that says IANE some scholors believe that it was done by her husband who was held there in prision. Its hard to say but an interesting idea...look it up if in doubt its a true theory!
