This movie is amazing! If you like movies about real people you will like this. It is nicely done.

Not even a reference to the fluff that Doris Day usually lends her talents to. Powerfully acted, and the fictional "Ten Cents Dance" number was a perfect addition.

Classic variation on the gangster films of yore. On Blu-ray.

Doris Day really shines in this movie, as she gives a harder edge portrayal of singer/actress Ruth Etting. Normally known for her sunny, happy go-lucky roles, Day's fans saw a very complex side to her acting and singing abilities. The music in this movie is outstanding and both Day and Cagney are brilliant.

Doris Day in a role she should have gotten an Oscar for. This is a great film. James Cagney and Doris Day have an honesty on the screen that is rare. Doris Day is absolutely stunning in this movie. Drop Dead Gorgeous. Must see!
