Hopefully James Cagney isn't this annoying in all of his movies. But then that's what his character demands.

I was absolutely astounded at the wonder of this film. Doris Day gave a surprisingly excellent performance. James Cagney did wonderful as well, although I didn't much appreciate his character during the course of the film.

Tough and uncompromising portrait of Ruth Etting. Doris Day is amazing in a role that hurls you through a pretty tough set of life experiences. Not a bit of fluff in sight!
