One of my all time favorite movies. Doris Day was fantastic, the songs were beautiful. Only an actor of James Cagney's caliber could pull off this role. He plays a vile man but makes you feel sorry for him. Fantastic movie to watch over and over.

Hopefully James Cagney isn't this annoying in all of his movies. But then that's what his character demands.

Yet another classic Doris Day film and I think one of her best performances. This gave her the opportunity to prove that she could not only sing like an angel, but was also extremely capable of coping with a more meaty role. Ten Cents a Dance is one of my favourite numbers.

Etting's husband, played by Cagney, is small time mobster who has helped his wife rise to the top. But his abusive ways sends her over the deg and to the bottle. One of Day's best dramatic roles.
