I fell asleep halfway in (literally). Cinematography and acting are OK. But the intention to revitalize the franchise under a somewhat more realistic treatment didn’t work. Repetitive, derivative and dull.

Sadly, The Grudge is an underwhelming entry in the long dormant franchise. This cursed production — delayed from release last year — hardly feels worth the wait, and is certainly not worth the price of admission.

very good movie. I think the people didn't like it much because of the ending. All in all it's a good movie.

Well, I liked the original The Grudge, but this "reboot" was really not necessary, it turns The Grudge into a really basic horror movie with few screamers and that's all.

Nearly devoid of scares for the casual horror consumer, it will likely elicit a respectful dismissal from genre connoisseurs: "We get what you're trying to do," they might gently say to the filmmakers. "It didn't work."
