After returning home from the Vietnam War, veteran Jacob Singer struggles to maintain his sanity. Plagued by hallucinations and flashbacks, Singer rapidly falls apart as the world and people around him morph and twist into disturbing images. His girlfriend, Jezzie, and ex-wife, Sarah, try to help, but to little avail. Even Singer's chiropractor friend, Louis, fails to reach him as he descends into madness.

Une grande surprise ce film ! Je suis tombe dessus en voulant m'interesser de plus pes a Tim Robbins et wouhaaaaa, un excellent film !! ^^

Having just watched this film again I can truly say that it is one of the best I have ever seen on so many levels. For those that "get" the story, it is a truly moving and remarkable experience unmatched in other films of its kind. Adrian Lyne's direction is absolutely superb and the performances from all the actors are perfect. Balancing some of the creepiest scenes ever filmed with an incredible attention to drama and humanity is not something to be taken lightly and it is this that is the film's greatest strength. It will stay with you long after you've finished watching it and will hold up to the test of time quite easily I think. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars I would...absolutely brilliant. My highest recommendation.

Before figuring out whats real and what isnt became a fad in the movies, there was Jacob's Ladder- a haunting tale of madness,paranoia, and glimpses of Hell. Brilliant. Tim Robbins at his best and some great supporting acting.
