I'm amazed by the mediocre scores that critics and users gave this film. Perhaps if I hadn't read the book, it would have been hard to follow. Not sure. But as I experienced it, it was beautifully conceived, executed and performed by everyone involved. Wonderful film.

For Those Who Read the Book Long Ago.....I read this book when it came out ages ago and I had heard that the movie adaptation was not great, but I thought it well done. It might be easier for someone who has read the book. Perhaps the insertion of time frames was confusing but I thought the development of the 3 female characters was good. The movie went by quickly. Emily Blunt at her best and it was a delight to see a few other actors out of character.
