Nice Hitchcock touches elevate this film above your usual mystery romance--Don't Blink!!

Hitchcock's most under-appreciated early British film. Stars the wonderful Nova Pilbeam, who played the daughter in the original Man Who Knew Too Much. Fans of later films like Saboteur and Foreign Correspondent will enjoy this one.

Good Hitchcock, but obviously before his peak. Lots of insight to his later genius.

Not many talk about this gem but it's a personal favourite of mine. Also done during his British era, Hitchcock was already making classics before he was a household name.

Not a bad early Hitchcock 'man on the run trying to prove his innocence' thriller, but definitely done better in other films, including 'Saboteur' and obviously, ' The Fugitive'. Pilbeam is good as the 'young' Erica who falls for Robert (De Marney), the 'innocent'. She helps him avoid the police, including her father, the commissioner (Marmont) long enough to track down the real murder - who conveniently just confesses. Why were the band at the end all in blackface? Is that just because it was Britain in 1937? Anyway, a decent film, but not terribly dramatic or exciting.
