I find her movies passively amusing, but not particularly deep or memorable.

A sober, funny, beautiful film. July is a filmmaker unlike any other, working tangentially in the modern neuroses of a Woody Allen, a Nicole Holofcener, while playing in the kingdom of magic realism.

While I felt unsure of the film after my first viewing, the film most certainly delivered on the second. Very different from her first film, but still containing the Miranda July charms that made me love the first film and her writing. Plus there's a talking cat! Oh, and a lovely Jon Brion score.
