I just saw this movie for the first time. Loretta Young is great in this role. It does have quite a forward thinking plot for 1947, very interesting outcome.

What a delight. Quirky and fun. Loretta Young plays a farmer's daughter who treks to the big city to become a nurse and gets swept into politics. Quite the statement for it's time; a woman in politics. Very cute and very funny.

DELIGHTFUL CLASSIC, WITH A WONDERFUL OSCAR WINNING PERFORMANCE BY LORETTA YOUNG (IN ONE OF THE BIGGEST UPSET VICTORIES IN OSCAR HISTORY). GREAT "FEEL GOOD" FILM, FINE WRITING AND DIRECTION.
