Jim Wormold is an expatriate Englishman living in pre-revolutionary Havana with his teenage daughter Milly. He owns a vacuum cleaner shop but isn't very successful so he accepts an offer from Hawthorne of the British Secret Service to recruit a network of agents in Cuba.

A true sleeper. One that will put those not paying attention to sleep. This is a classic that has never been properly presented. Ernie Kovacs is brilliant and the film is way ahead of it's time. Great cast, great photography (if you can find a clear version).

Good, but a little disappointing, considering the talent involved. Alec Guiness does well, but it's not one of his more memorable performances. The story is a bit slow moving. I had a hard time getting into the film. The Cuban setting is a plus and the filmmakers make the most of it. Fine cinematography.
