She was a superfreak, yes, but I was surprised by her compassion.

I have to thank a good friend for putting this film on to me,by far one of the best documentaries I have seen, and its great that she can look back and laugh at her own short comings

In light of her recent passing, this was a very touching film. I gained a huge amount of respect for this woman, especially when you look at the hardship she's had to endure all these years. I'm amazed how she was able to keep everything together (or at least give that impression) after both husbands went to jail, she lost her television empire, and she lost most of her wealth. She really is inspirational and you can't help but admire the strength she showed until the very end. By the way, not that you probably don't already hate him, but after watching him, you'll absolutely despite Jerry Falwell. The biggest irony of this movie is the hypocrisy that the Christian Fundamentalist movement has shown over the years and there is no better example than what Falwell did to the Bakkers.

Just like it's subject: Campy, sweet, gawdy, eager to overlook the details of the Bakkers' out-of-control fundraising and, somehow incredibly endearing.

An interesting film showing Tammy Faye as an unfortunate, at times pathetic, victim of forces around her.
