Nice companion to Man of Aran, also about survival on an isolated island. A more established (and admittedly standard) plot adds the well-shot, well-played theme of the death of the island's existence.

wow! this is a good movie. reminds me of watching a silent film and this was released i think in 1937 38? the images is what kept this movie vibrant. i was surpirsed how Michael Powell was able to get very well complicated shots of the cliffs and the rest of the island and the people. After making edge of the world, to me Michael Powell shines.
