Another great, tragically over-looked and forgotten war film from the 60s. "Play Dirty" is aptly titled as it features the most unheroic heroes who have no qualms whatsoever about doing whatever they can to a) survive and b) make a little money in the process. The beginning and ending are truly memorable indictments on the stupidity of war and fallacy of the Second World War as being The Good War where only the righteous prevailed.

Interesting flick, but also just another in a long line of films depicting how poorly the british treat their soldiers, no wonder we left

The pic more than holds its own with The Dirty Dozen , in fact I enjoyed it more and found it more subversive.

Terrible! This was THE WORST movie I have ever seen! The acting was poor and the plot was even worse.

I wanted, very badly, to enjoy this movie. However, it felt like Lawrence of Arabia, but on jeeps, and without "the Lawrence." Talking with my friend Matt, I have come to appreciate how precocious it was to make a movie that portrayed WWII poorly... Well put together, just not my cup of tea.
