Loved this movie. Hardy and Gandolfini together are amazing.

Tom Hardy portraits a simple minded Brooklyn bartender. His bar is targeted, as many are, for laundering cash from local gangsters. Each character is rich and intriguing. James Gandolfini also does what he always did in this type of movies and does it well. Not as tough as usual but a thug nonetheless. A twist at the end puts this movie in the top ten favorites of mine. If you loved Mystic River (and how can you not?) you'll love The Drop.

Total respect for Tom Hardy. Damn is this a good, honest movie about growing up Brooklyn, and as much as I thought the pup (Rocco!) would be used as a ploy, he's the cutest thing ever. Brilliant. And yeah, Gandolfini delivers man. Props.

The Drop is carefully crafted and well done at that. Lead by two powerhouse performances from the highly acclaimed, yet highly underrated Tom Hardy and the late James Gandolfini.

This movie was fantastic. I watched it on my iPhone, and I will watch it again in the home theater.
