Awesome movie. Tom Hardy's performance was excellent. James Gandolfini was great too. His character carried the always entertaining "Tony Soprano state of mind". It was nice to see that James Gandolfini ended his life with his best movie yet. Rest in Peace Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini)

Tom Hardy portraits a simple minded Brooklyn bartender. His bar is targeted, as many are, for laundering cash from local gangsters. Each character is rich and intriguing. James Gandolfini also does what he always did in this type of movies and does it well. Not as tough as usual but a thug nonetheless. A twist at the end puts this movie in the top ten favorites of mine. If you loved Mystic River (and how can you not?) you'll love The Drop.

Love everything about this movie. Can't really criticize anything. However, I love gangster and crime movies so I would love it if it was just a good movie.

I love this movie because it feels quite real. Of all the acting Tom Hardy has done, and to which I like very much (including Peaky Blinders, Max Max, Legend, etc) I think the Drop and Child 44 are in some ways my favorites because he is an understated hero. In both movies, his partner is Noomi Rapace, who I love and respect. And the third actor to love is the adorable pit bull. Good ending.

Definitely adding this one to my digital collection on ultraviolet.
