One of John Wayne's worst and most embarrassing films, in which he is totally miscast and misdirected by Johnn Huston.

well umn just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is a good movie 2 watch....its got a good cast of actors/actressess throughout this movie.....i think that john wayne, sam jaffe, so yamamura, eiko ando play good roles/parts throughout this movie......i think that the director of this action/adventure/drama/romance movie had done a great job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie.....its a good movie 2 watch n its a enjoyable movie 2 watch with a good cast throughout this movie

The is literally the only John Wayne film truly love. Its a wonderful ride through japanese culture at the end of their isolation. Our two cultures clash in the form of a love that can never be, and a country (Japan) that wishes (for preservation of its traditions) to pretend its the only land in existence. beautiful imagery, & cinematography. Loved it.

Outstanding movie John Wayne is my family favorite actor
