Interesting characters and a heavy and dark atmosphere. A film of shadows and introspection. To look beyond the apperances, through the souls of Mary Reilly and Jekkil/Hyde. Beautiful performances by Malkovich and Julia Roberts in this adaptation of the famous story by Stevenson.

This movie is really good, and the only thing keeping it from being great is it's pace. It's just this side of inert. Apart from that, it's witty and subtle and is based on a really brilliant idea. John Malkovich is superb in this, and I just find Hyde's fascination for Mary to be delicious. Glenn Close is equally spicy, which makes it a shame that she appears so briefly.

Wow! I simply love John Malkovich!!! John as Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde!!!! It doesnt get any better than that! Ouch!! I hated the ending though...I wanted something epic!! hahahaha
