It's just another day in the small town of Hamlin until something disastrous happens. Suddenly, news breaks that a series of nuclear warheads has been dropped along the Eastern Seaboard and, more locally, in California. One of the most depressing films ever (although I guess I haven't seen everything!) It's about a nuclear holocaust, and one family trying to cope with the aftermath.

Powerful and heart-wrenching film. Would have given it a higher rating, but the film is poorly directed and borderlines melodrama.

A dreadfully earnest but fatally uninspired effort to compress the aftermath of an epic catastrophe, massive nuclear war, into a small-scale family memoir.

Not a terribly good film (though not too shabby by made-for-TV standards) but it is effective, and depressing. Points deducted for extra-cheesy musical score.
