Alien (1979)

During its return to the earth, commercial spaceship Nostromo intercepts a distress signal from a distant planet. When a three-member team of the crew discovers a chamber containing thousands of eggs on the planet, a creature inside one of the eggs attacks an explorer. The entire crew is unaware of the impending nightmare set to descend upon them when the alien parasite planted inside its unfortunate host is birthed.

Ridley Scott's Alien is the first thing that I think of when I think of the word masterpiece. This film is filled with a claustrophobic feel and tons of horror and also suspense. The protagonists Ellen Ripley is and will always be on of the best movie protagonists of all time.

Ridley Scott arrive avec une grande de film de silence-fiction. Alien est un film très différent des autre film d’horreur, ce n’est pas film à en faire le saut. Les créatures son visuellement très bien fait pour l’époque. Ridley Scott à trouver une façon original de faire apparaître c’est répugnante créature de l’espace.

Alien is like a half-forgotten nightmare that suddenly outfolds in front of you from the cold depths of outer space. Nearly fourty years after it's release, I would still say that Alien is amongst the greatest horror and sci-fi movies of all time. The script is extremely intelligent, Ridley Scott's breakthrough direction creates an atmosphere so thick you can nearly touch it, and the seven characters are so well developed and well acted that no moments of this film feels fake. For me, Alien isn't just a horror film, it is a thrilling and tragic drama of ordinary people fighting against something truly inhumane that is out for blood.
