My favorite actor and director. I loved Insomnia! This movie was so gripping and it had my heart racing! One of the most suspenseful films I have ever seen. Al Pacino and Robin Williams were excellent in this film. The supporting actors were also very good. Even though this plot and mystery is something thats very common in suspense movies. Christopher Nolan can really make it exciting and actually unpredictable.Overall Insomnia is a gripping, suspenseful, and, crazy film that I enjoyed and loved a lot. Great movie.

Insomnia is pretty simple but exceptionally made. Al Pacino and Robin Williams provide such enthusiastic and chemistry that should be notable towards critics as brilliant. the word Insomnia frequently occurs in nearly every scene. It contains alot of built up words., Intense is maybe the word to disguise. End climax is very well directed too, Insomnia kept me guessing for very long periods and even after, but actually knowing the ending and its unnoticed twist and turns makes you realise how really good this became. Techincally brilliant.

Christopher Nolan yet again proves he can direct fantastic movies with Insomnia. The odd 24-hour Alaskan sunshine mixed with the beautiful landscapes and geography are both a very fresh and strange place for a detective movie to take place in, but it makes it that much better. The incredible soundtrack mixed with the setting and events that occur create a very unique type of atmosphere. Al Pacino is great, as usual and I love seeing Robin Williams in serious roles. As limited as they may be, he was amazing in Good Will Hunting as he is here. The fog chase scene is my favorite scene, because the fog creates a mysterious layer of danger. The scene could be easily compared to what would happen if one were to drive in heavy fog; an accident could easily happen. I also loved the portrayal of what it's like to never sleep, especially in the last half hour. Insomnia isn't just any old crime thriller because it teaches us why it's important to be truthful and what can happen to our conscience when we aren't.

This film is based on the Norwegian film of the same title. I think Pacino's performance particularly is superb at least equaling the same role played by Stellan Skarsgard. The filming style is claustrophobic, and of course the main role is the sun, that never sets in northern Alaska in midsummer. Excellent film, but also watch the 1997 original.
