Johanna von Ingelheim: As for will, woman should be considered superior to man for Eve ate of the apple for love of knowledge and learning, but Adam ate of it merely because she asked him.

This film caught my attention because I'm so interesting about this legend that there ever was a woman who became Pope of Catholic Church. I think the story was well conducted, showing the reality of what was the clergy at the time, without ever falling into disrepute of the Church. It's a good movie even has a few epic battles and I really liked the costumes and outdoor stages. The special effects were very poor, I saw some problems with the graphs of the cities in CGI, and also problems in continuity and editing, but worth seeing the film.

Klasse Film. Hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Klasse Atmosphere, Ton und Story. Auch wenn mann nichts mit der Kirche am Hut hat (so wie ich), sehr zu empfehlen...

If Edith Piaf lived as a man in the 13th century, and cross dressed to be in a monastery, add a few songs, then she'd be Pope Joan...wait a minute, thats a great idea for a new Mel Brooks comedy. Pope Joan: The Musical
