cruel, cold and kitchy movie about an intelligent woman. the story around the female pope seemed quite constructed..also the cast wasn't really convincing..except hilarious pope john goodman!

it's not the story i always knew about pope joan, but it was interesting to see this approach. excelent scenary, i loved the story and the performance of joanna wokalek is outstanding. i loved it a lot.

This film caught my attention because I'm so interesting about this legend that there ever was a woman who became Pope of Catholic Church. I think the story was well conducted, showing the reality of what was the clergy at the time, without ever falling into disrepute of the Church. It's a good movie even has a few epic battles and I really liked the costumes and outdoor stages. The special effects were very poor, I saw some problems with the graphs of the cities in CGI, and also problems in continuity and editing, but worth seeing the film.
