My Best Girl (1927)

Joe Merrill, son of the millionaire owner of a chain of 5 and 10 cent stores, poses as Joe Grant, and takes a job in the stockroom of one of his father's stores, to prove that he can be a success without his father's influence. There he meets stockroom girl Maggie Johnson, and they fall in love. This causes problems, because Mrs. Merrill had planned for her son to marry Millicent Rogers, a high society girl.

this was a really cute story, but it was kind of odd, because what i thought it was done there was still 1/2 hour left

Mary Pickford's final silent film before her unsuccessful foray into early talkies, and what a film to go out on. It's such a charming and likable film...clearly both Charles 'buddy' Rogers & Pickford had such a chemistry and went on to marry in ten years & stayed together for the rest of her natural life. This film is simple but has has great scenes & scenery and has been copied many times in romantic comedies in years to come.I think it's such a fantastic Pickford film & in many regards one of her best.

Really great movie, the perfect one for Mary Pickford to do as her last silent film. Mary and Buddy were a really terrific pair.

She's Mary Pickford. to dislike her is Unamerican, as Unamerican as the HUAC.

Just a run-of-the-mill conventional Hollywood crowd-pleasing romantic comedy.
