Two families, abolitionist Northerners the Stonemans and Southern landowners the Camerons, intertwine. Considered the first true film by any standard. Without DW Griffith, films would still just be people on a stage in front of a single camera. Sure the message is failry racist, but as a film, it is maybe the most important piece of the huge puzzle I call "the celluloid."

The people giving it bad ratings are social critics, not film critics

I like to know how the other side thinks. Even though it is a rather old film, dont think for a minute it is not at least in the psyche of.... THE OTHER SIDE. Psyche takes generations to instill and generations to get rid of. Other than that, for 1915, a decently put together film.

People who cannot understand the allegory of this film are as misled as the Klan they criticize.
