Interestingly, of all Disney’s recent live-action adaptations, Mulan is probably the one that would have benefited most from the big screen.

I don’t remember the original but I enjoyed the live action version. Is it a masterpiece? No, but it’s solid.

I Literally cried watching this movie. I know it has brought up controversy, but try to move past that, watch it as a stand alone movie with some reference to the original. Most people giving it a 0 haven't even watched it. Give it a chance, I personally loved it. And the acting in the movie is actually pretty good.

So disappointing! I was so excited to see this because I loved the original but it barely stuck to the original story at all. The other live remakes of the Disney films have at least mainly stayed true to the original story with minor changes or additions but the new Mulan is basically a different story all together. There’s virtually no humour in this version of which is a lot of what attracts the audience to the original Mulan film. They definitely shouldn’t have bothered remaking Mulan.

It smartly skips the goofier aspects of the original, too. Once you’ve shed musical numbers and Eddie Murphy cracking wise as a dragon, you’re in far less jocular territory...And that feels right for the material.
