Beautiful, fascinating, powerful, frustrating. A complex, deep, multi-layered film that really could do with a second viewing. At the time it felt too long and slow but looking back I can understand why. The sex scenes are remarkable - especially as they force you to focus on their emotional subtexts, rather than their action.

Absolutely incredible. Ang Lee did a fantastic job with the period detail and direction. Tang Wei and Tony Leung were amazing and had great chemistry together.

Ang Lee has done it again - this time with an espionage film. Gripping from early on, I found myself enthralled with the plot and watching it unravel. Amazing portrayls by the actors and the film was beautifully shot. Highly recommended.

it's one of my fav movies of all time. i love all the visuals as well as the content. however, i don't feel all the sex were necessary. a lot of times i get bored watching it.
