This Is Where I Leave You (2014)

When their father passes away, four grown, world-weary siblings return to their childhood home and are requested -- with an admonition -- to stay there together for a week, along with their free-speaking mother and a collection of spouses, exes and might-have-beens. As the brothers and sisters re-examine their shared history and the status of each tattered relationship among those who know and love them best, they reconnect in hysterically funny and emotionally significant ways.

Now I don't watch more than 5 movies in a year because I can't get through the first 30 minutes of most of them. This one is a masterpiece from ever angle!! The screenplay, acting, humor, and irony has the finesse that is hard to find in this day and age. Both thumbs up to the team behind this epic!! On a separate note, I am appalled at the low rating by the critics....makes me wonder how far along these so called critics are in the journey of life. Sorry to say, the critics are clueless in rating this movie the way they did.

You couldn't assemble a much better cast than this. Very sweet yet difficult at times as it dealt with the death of the father, children figuring themselves out, and coming out ok in the end. Rent the next time you need a movie recommendation. Names like Jane Fonda, Tina Fey, Jason Bateman to name a few in this cast.

I loved this movie! What can I say ~ I am a fan of family dramas! Especially liked the twist / surprise in the second half of the movie! Recommended!

One of the best movies I have seen in a long time!!! It's real and doesn't have a Hollywood feel to it. I saw it twice and both times it made me laugh and cry.
