Don Hertzfeldt's second installment in his trilogy of films about Bill is just as excellent, funny, dark, witty, sad, and bizarre as his first installment, "Everything Will Be OK". The man just has a great inventive and creative mind, that can draw these great simple images, and merge them with deep thought and philosophy, all without losing his sense of humor entirely. I'm completely thrilled by the work he puts out.

One of the most original movies I have seen and funnier than chapter 1.

Hertzfeldt is extending the bases of rational thought with the elements and premise established in "Everything Will Be Ok". That is why this short animation, besides being longer, is more symbolic and carries heavier ideas and imagery (heavier in substance AND in meaning). Technical aspects now play a significantly important role, the jaw-dropping pace and the narration style are kept intact and, in the end, I Am So Proud of You concludes exactly what we wanted to hear and know all along with extremely meaningful reflections. 98/100

Although not as spellbinding as its predecessor, it still has the same quirkiness and sense of self awareness that made Everything Will Be Okay a beautiful film. Once again I will state that this 22 minute short had more substance than your average 2 hour blockbuster. People need to know about Bill!

The arc of Hetrzfeldt is huge. It has been funny hearing him speak over the last 3 years at different engagements because HE is different based on what he is working on. Showing off his newest short, he came off as relaxed, sweet and shy, and a little mischevious. I"M SO PROUD OF YOU still has a lot of that deeper meaning stuff that's been prevelent in his work since MEANING OF LIFE (kinda always) yet mixes it with Don's amazing sense of humor. The effect made it hit home for a lot of people I talked to. I'm always impressed with the DIY attitude Hertzfeldt has and it mind blowing what he puts together alone with the ol' fashioned "blind" exposing and drawing without a light table.

Highly recommended for you
