Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers (1988)

Los Angeles private eye Jack Chandler is hired by a worried mother to find her missing runaway daughter, Samantha. As Chandler searches for her whereabouts, he uncovers an evil cult that worships an Egyptian god, whose followers commit human sacrifices with chainsaws to appease their deity. He soon learns that Samantha has revenge in store for the cult leader and his bevy of blood-thirsty, chainsaw-wielding hookers.

I love this silly comedy-horror. The whole film is as ridiculous as the title. From OTT power-tool dismemberment to Linnea Quigleys Virgin Dance of the Double Chainsaws. Its not stop camp fun, all pieced together by corny film noir narration and music. Look out for Gunnar Hansen (Texas chainsaw massacre) and the fantastic scene where scream queens Michelle Bauer and Linnea Quigley get into a chainsaw duel. Brilliant!

If you want a good laugh in the style of Mystery Science Theatre-like movies, this is the movie to see. It's so poorly created and written, that it makes the movie absolutely hilarious.

A private eye searching for a runaway stumbles upon a ring of hookers who belong to an ancient Egyptian chainsaw cult. This is a perfect example of how to really deliver with a genre flick. The title tells you EXACTLY what's being promised and the film delivers EXACTLY what it promises. It has a good cast for delivering on this promise. Michelle Bauer (who looks incredible in this flick) is the main chainsaw hooker. Linnea Quigley is the runaway. Gunnar Hansen is the leader of the cult. Eve Fox Harris from "Repo Man" shows up. The film has lots of nudity, lots of cheap gore and is actually pretty funny in a not-too-challenging way. By the time Quigley is performing the Virgin Dance of the Double Chainsaws, anyone who has signed up based on the title will be more than pleased.

If you want to see a real b-movie look no further. "Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers" is the super low budget tale of a gang of chainsaw worshipping prostitutes that kills their customers. Sure sounds like silly fun and they even got the original 'Leatherface': Gunnar Hansen from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" to star in it. Of course I expected this one to be low budget, campy and filled with bad acting, but still it disappoints. It's not that funny or entertaining, and sadly all the tits and full frontal female nudity doesn't lift the rating at all.
