The classic tale of tragedy comes to the screen in the best adaptation of Hamlet ever. Three hours of pure and utterly brilliant film-making, that's packed with great sets, thrilling craft and astonishing performances that will grab you and not let go for a moment. A complex, exciting and dynamic thriller that's laced with suspense and stunning craftsmanship. This film breathes new life into Shakespeare's greatest play. A true masterpiece of the stage and now film. An extremely powerful and unforgettable movie that's a thrill to watch. Patrick Stewart and David Tennant give superb, passionate and brilliant performances. Tennant gives a spectacular performance as Hamlet, a defining performance of a role for a generation. Tennant is wondefully breathtaking. Stewart is extraordinary, he gives such life and dedication to his complex role of Claudius. I love it, this movie is spellbinding from start to finish.

I really enjoyed watching Dr. Who give a truly dynamic, physical performance of Hamlet. Tennant doesn't so much play Hamlet as inhabits the character to the point where it is almost impossible to tear one's eyes away from his performance. And then there's the Bard's wonderful words. Listening to Shakespeare is like taking a lesson in the history of English aphorisms. Three thumbs up!

The best version of Hamlet I have ever seen. For real. David Tennent masterfully commands every single scene. Highly recommended.

David Tennant was born to play Hamlet. I usually don't go for modern renditions of Shakespeare plays, but I thought this one was well done. They kept the language and let it speak for itself instead of trying to modernize Shakespeare's language, which usually ends up being a total disaster.

This modern adaptation of Shakespeare's "Hamlet" is fresh, revolutionary - a truly brilliant realization! I think that even those who shy away from the Shakespeare's twisted, complex language would enjoy and relate to this fantastic piece of work. David Tennant brings charm and wit to the young Prince of Denmark like none other. The only fault (and its hardly a fault at that) is that his character becomes slightly reminiscent of the Tenth Doctor (of BBCs Doctor Who) at times. Sir Patrick Stewart is a splendid choice as King Claudius - his impatient expression perfectly displays the hidden evil behind the character. A MUST SEE FOR BOTH TENNANT AND SHAKESPEARE FANS!!!
