This movie marks her most recent reunion with Chinese visionary director Zhang Yimou, who also happens to be her ex-flame. The plot is thick with war, deceit, and domestic politics. Gallons after gallons of blood are shed and you'll be left asking for more intrigue and court drama. Welcome to Tang dynasty's China.

This movie was nothing short of amazing. The colors, the story, the acting - all incredulous. The movie sucks you in so much that you don't even realize you are reading subtitles (for those of us that don't speak Mandarin.)

This movie is absolutely gorgeous. Even if I didn't have any kind of translation, I could still watch this movie. The set and costume designs are amazing.
